"Hunter Academy’s Battle God" by Pond Man follows Shin Yu-sung, an orphan with an F-rank Trait, considered the worst possible, leading to his abandonment by the hunter-producing Shin-oh family at five years old. In the same year, he is adopted by the Fist King, a hunter renowned for achieving his strength through rigorous physical training rather than inherent abilities. The Fist King recognizes Shin Yu-sung's unique physique over his Trait, noting his nine blocked yin pathways. These blocked pathways cause mana to overflow, granting him exceptional intelligence and striking looks, but also a limited lifespan. Conversely, an abundance of bodily yang energy provides the means to heal these blocked pathways. The novel features a battle academy setting with a handsome, overpowered male protagonist who starts weak and grows strong. It includes androgynous characters, a beautiful female lead, strong love interests, and both tsundere and yandere archetypes, with a love interest falling in love first. Elements of nationalism are present. The story is described as having good fights and an interesting premise, though some readers found it became boring or felt like a typical academy life novel later on. The Korean novel is considered to have significant future potential.
