Mated at First Sight

Mu Lin, a doctor whose fascination lies in poisons, views saving, killing, and torturing as her virtues. Her medical ethics are present, but empathy is absent, her patient care dictated by mood. An injury leads her to a chance encounter with Jing Chen. Later, as a military doctor, she saves his life during their first meeting, his wound a significant revelation. During their second encounter, she offers herself to him, to which he agrees, though she claims it was a joke. Mu Lin’s world comprises the sick and the deceased, while Jing Chen’s consists of family and soldiers. Their meeting, however, promises to alter their perspectives. A playful scene depicts Jing Chen professing his devotion, with Mu Lin acknowledging his words while secretly preparing a silver needle. In a future snapshot, their child questions Mu Lin's choice of father, leading to Jing Chen's possessive response. While others believe Jing Chen captured Mu Lin's heart, she asserts her willingness in their union.
