Nick Klein, a high school geek whose grandfather was a retired superhero and who was trained in martial arts by an immortal mercenary, inherits his grandfather's legacy after his death. This includes the last Rocket suit, advanced powered armor granting him superhuman abilities, and the headquarters of his grandfather's WWII-era superhero team, complete with their jet and collected trophies. Now, Nick and his friends, who are descendants of the original team members, strive to revive this forgotten superhero group. Their journey balances typical high school challenges—bullies, homework, and dating—with the more extraordinary threats of supervillains and unresolved mysteries from their grandparents' heroic past. The narrative draws upon comic book conventions across decades, embracing both serious and lighthearted tones, eschewing a grim and gritty approach.
