Three Eight

Three Eight, by Guwol, depicts a world where gamblers employ unusual methods, lending money at extreme interest without collateral. For fifteen years, Hongju has been entangled in this system, collecting debts from housemates while tied to collateral himself. His life takes an unexpected turn with the arrival of Mookyung, a man who claims he will invest in the house, referred to by the housemates as a "rich fool" and "money tree." Mookyung presents Hongju with a strange offer: repayment of debts in exchange for information about the house. This proposal raises Hongju's suspicion, especially given his own precarious financial situation. Despite his doubts about Mookyung's motives, Hongju feels compelled to accept. Having learned to survive by being resourceful, Hongju understands the necessity of seizing opportunities, even when they come with uncertainty.
